Damian Senegal Parrot

Damian is a very special boy, he is blind, he was taken from a group of lads that had wrapped him up in wire and were playing football with him. Due to his injuries he is totally blind, but this does not stop him from playing with his toys and enjoying life. Damian's best game is biting me whenever he can...........and it hurts.

He must have everything in the same place which means he knows where to aim for when I am putting in new toys or his food and water.

To sponsor Damian £5 a year.

Blue - Blue Fronted Amazon

This is Blue, brought to me 4 years ago by the RSPCA. Her owner was prosecuted for cutting her wings and 3 toes off with a pair of pliers. For many months all she did was make the most awful crying noise.

She is not tame and I think she was previously an aviary bird. I have never caged her and now she is content to spend her days near Fred the blind Amazon.

To sponsor Blue £10 a year.

Another photo of Blue, here you can see her missing toes and wings, even so she is such a stunning little girl.

Ben Ruby Macaw

Ben's story is sad. A much loved free flying bird for years, until his owner went to live abroad, he was then left with an old lady on Dartmoor who made him live outside with just some corrugated sheet to get under out of the weather.

He lived this way for 4 years. She fed him on chocolate biscuits and scraps.

He will attack and badly hurt anyone who gets near him. I was very privileged that he saw me as his friend, I love him totally and trust him completely. He now spends much of his time cuddling his collection of teddies, although he is free flighted and does come out with me to watch me work.

To Sponsor Ben £20 a year
